Leadership coaching, specifically of sales management, requires a significant commitment of time, discipline and energy, that small to medium sized organizations often don't have. So the question inevitably comes up, is it worth it? Organization leaders who make coaching a priority reap the benefits in lasting ways, and I would argue the business case for executive coaching is valuable.
People leaders who are coached are statistically shown to exhibit higher productivity, positive morale and increased levels of engagement and tangible career acceleration. Moreso, 93% of companies who implement a coaching culture are statistically shown to exhibit strong team relationship, better talent development, and employee retention. The cumulative effect from all of those factors in organizations are increased performance, better succession planning and lowering the costs for hiring and training.
My philosophy is to move beyond the usual executive coaching skills, such as active listening, goal setting, and giving feedback and to establish an honest and trusted relationship between the coach and the coachee. My aim is to achieve performance improvement on the short term, and leadership development on the mid-term to really make a valuable difference to the organization, the coachee, and their team members.
